Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday - I am ready for a break! Last night Wyatt didn't sleep the best, therefore I did not sleep the best. It makes the day feel a little longer when I start out tired. Being back to school has been different than I expected it would be - I can remember when I was pregnant and I thought that by the time Wyatt was two months old he would be sleeping through the night! Ha! I didn't know how I would feel about being apart from him every Monday-Friday, and honestly, I still don't have a complete handle on it yet. When I'm at school I am able to completely focus on what I am doing, but when I have down-time, I miss seeing him. Today I didn't get started with my last patient until 3:45, so I didn't get done until 5:30. That is frustrating for me because I want to get home to see my little boy and my hubby!!! But... I still love what I do at school. And I really love my son... As much as I would like to just be a full-time mommy, I know I need to be doing what I'm doing to stay a happy mommy.
Anyway... the cloth diapers are still working out great. I am so happy with how they have held up, and (knock on wood) we have yet to have a "blowout." We do have leaks every now and again, but I attribute that many times to me not changing him frequently enough or needing to put in a doubler (additional absorbent layer). Or, if the diaper isn't put on correctly it can definitely leak. I highly recommend the BumGenius 3.0 cloth diapers to anybody who has a little one in diapers! I'll keep you updated on how it goes once the diapers get a little more interesting with solid food.
And finally, Wyatt is starting to chub up now! Hurray! He has been eating a ton at daycare - to put it in perspective, I pumped about 45 ounces before I went back to school so I would have a back up supply for daycare. Yesterday he ate 17 ounces, and today he ate 18 ounces! I think I sent 10 ounces today, which is a lot for me when I only get one or two times at school to pump. SO... we are going to have to start supplementing him with formula. I'm not thrilled with the idea, but I'm okay with it as long as I keep on pumping at school so he has atleast SOME breastmilk during the day. Right now when I get home from school, I become his human pacifier. It's like he sees me and thinks,"FOOD!!!" lol And, I'm sure that it's the easiest way he knows how to reconnect again. It's very sweet... I'll be sad when it ends!
