Wyatt is 10 months old today!

And what a spunky boy he is! He is so full of energy and is always on the go!

He is getting big - at his last well-child visit he weighed almost 23 lb! He is a solid boy, but he is starting to get longer and leaner as he has been crawling and pulling up and walking while holding on to things.

He is eating lots of different foods, and now he can pick up food and feed himself. He really likes yogurt, Cheerios, grapes, oatmeal, chicken, and anything Mom and Dad are eating!

Tonight he pulled up, let go and stood for awhile without holding on, then took FIVE steps without holding on!!! Big boy! He must have known he turned ten months old today! :) It just happened out of the blue - maybe next time I can catch it on video!
Such a fun stage of life... I'm starting to plan for his first birthday - pick a theme and what to cook, etc. I think he is going to have a lot of fun eating his birthday cake! :)

Long overdue update...

This is how I found Wyatt the other night... He was having fun, needless to say. :)

I think he should go on "One Minute to Win it" - he would be great at the challenge where you have to unroll the whole roll of toilet paper in under a minute without ripping it!

Such joy... I think there is a picture of me at this age in my parent's bathroom where I've unrolled all of the toilet paper too. Classic. :)

Anyway, life has been crazy busy lately. I know that's cliche, but it's true. School has kept me unusually busy as I am finishing up cases and having plenty of labwork to do to finish those cases! One of these days it should slow down... If all goes well I should finish up most of my school requirements in the next two weeks, so I'm hoping after that it slows down!
Here's a little clip of the toilet paper fun. :)

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel

But it might be a train coming at me... :) Well, I have five and a half weeks left in clinic. Wow! I really thought at this point in the year it would be less crazy busy and more being bored, ready to get out of school. Well, I'm ready to be done with school, but I still have so much to get done in the next five weeks! Just the other day I got an e-mail from the dental school registrar with TWELVE bullet points of things we have to do to graduate and get our license. Some of those things include getting fingerprinted, having a background check, and writing checks to the Iowa dental board. I also have to get fitted for my cap and gown - that's exciting! Graduation is on June 4th at 3 pm. It's kind of a funny time - Friday afternoon - so I don't know that many people will be able to make it. But everyone is welcome to come!
Anyway, I still have to finish up my requirements at school - I have several cases that I probably won't get done until the second or third week of May. When we complete all of our requirements, we get to ring a bell at school. It's a tradition that all of the seniors do every year. I just can't wait until it's my turn!

Tonight Aaron is in Cedar Falls so Wyatt and I are on our own. I was a bad mommy and gave Wyatt some french fries for dinner. Okay, three french fries. But he also had strawberry yogurt and cheerios, so maybe that cancels out some of the badness. And I let him pull some of the toilet paper off of the roll while I was getting him ready to take a bath. That's not so bad. And he gets so much enjoyment out of it. :) He is such a stinker in the bath tub though. He will sit and play for about five minutes, and then after that he wants to stand up and lean over the edge or pull up on the spout or pull the shampoo off of the ledge... He never stops moving!!! I keep telling him he needs to sit down in the bath tub, but he just doesn't listen. :) We did have a nice time together after his bath - I put his p.j.'s on him and then we sat and read books for a little while. He was a very good listener then... very sweet.

So, lots of rambling thoughts. It's going to be busy these next few months with school/graduation, buying/selling houses, moving, my externship, Wyatt's first birthday, and eventually starting to practice dentistry!

Fun times at Grandma's house

Tonight we went over to Aaron's parent's house to celebrate his mom's birthday. Aaron cooked some yummy food - salad, shrimp and scallop pasta, and chocolate cheesecake!

Wyatt had some fun with the box of tissues - here's a clip of him!

Apollonian Frolics

Tonight Aaron and I went to my dental prom - we call it Frolics. We had a good time - the food was terrible (it wasn't at the Marriott - what can you expect??? :) ) but the company was great.
It was a lot of fun to see all of my classmates and their significant others get dressed up.

Here are some of my classmates - Lacey, Christi, and Rachel. We all sat at the same table tonight, and then we went to Carlos O'Kelly's afterwards with one other couple for margaritas! It was a good night, and now I need to get to bed!

Wyatt got his first tooth!

So, yesterday and today Wyatt has had a runny nose and he's been a little finicky about eating. Tonight I put my finger in his mouth and felt a tooth! Exciting! Mommy is going to have to go down to Pedo on Monday to get Wyatt a toothbrush. :)

Wyatt also went with Grandma Muffy to his 9 month check up today (two weeks late, oh well. :) ) and he is growing like a weed. He is in the 75th percentile for both height and weight - he weighs 22.7 lb. Big boy! I think he's actually slimmed down a little since he's been on the move. And tonight he pulled up on Aaron's chair and just stood there for about 5 seconds without holding on - we were both surprised at how well he did! Pretty soon he'll be walking around... wow.

Anyway, I will try to post some more pictures of Wyatt this weekend. I'm falling behind on blogging!

What a big boy...

Today Wyatt and I have had some fun while Daddy was at work. I started out by styling Wyatt's hair into a faux-hawk. He's such a cool guy.

This look puts fear into my bones - it looks like he is saying "Just try to stop me!"

We bought Wyatt a hat for this summer the other night. I decided to try it out today when we played outside for a little bit. I think it's such a funny pattern for a little boy's hat! :)

Gotta protect that fair skin.

I couldn't get him to look at the camera when I was... so here's the best shot.

We had leftover chicken alfredo and peaches for lunch. Wyatt also ate a ton of yogurt bites and puffs as he discovered he is pretty good at picking them up and feeding himself. Yay! I am very excited for him to learn to feed himself bites.
Here's a little clip of him feeding himself.

Check out Aaron's Etsy store!

Here is the link to Aaron's Etsy store where he is selling some of the paintings he has done. Pretty cool! :)

Giveaway... for another hour! :)

Hop on over to Lindsie's blog, and in the next hour you can enter her giveaway for an ice-cream maker! I know, I should have got this up earlier, but better late than never. :)

Happy Easter!

This Easter we got Wyatt an Easter basket - I know he doesn't really care at this age, but it's still fun to see his reaction to things!

Wyatt was very fascinated with the "grass."

"What IS this stuff???"

"Oh, I LOVE cardboard and plastic!" I don't know why we buy toys - we should just save plastic containers and cardboard boxes and give those to Wyatt!

Wyatt also did not care about the plastic eggs filled with Chocolate Cheerios and yogurt melts. Crazy kid!!! He'll probably be more excited about the eggs next year.

Wyatt was very happy that Grandma Cheri came up to Cedar Falls for Easter, as you can see!

He looks like a little man in this picture. Button down shirt, check. Khaki pants, check. Remote control, check.

And he still loves driving around in the walker. I think he's going to be a crazy driver! (just like his mom. :) )

Wyatt scowled in all three family pictures we took outside. So... this is the best one we got. :)
And... here are a few clips of Wyatt playing with his Easter basket.
