Wyatt continues to be interested in what Henry does. He likes to "rock" the baby in the bouncy chair, sit in his carseat, pretend to "eat" like the baby. He also is mothering his Sesame Street stuffed animals. He covers them with blankets, puts them in the swing, and has even tried to feed them like Mommy feeds Henry! :) So funny. He is really growing up and copying what we do. An update on potty training - we went five days with him in underwear, and he just wasn't figuring it out. I was exhausted and tired of cleaning up accidents. So... we bought some pull-ups and continued with having him sit on the potty, just not every 15 minutes. He's made a lot of progress - today has been his best yet. He's only had one accident all day, and he's starting to go right when he sits down on the potty. I told him right before his nap, "I want you to go pee and poo in the potty." And he did! He gets really excited about it, and so do I! :) I think he's really starting to get it. The past few days he's been waking up dry and going in the potty. Maybe in another week or two we'll switch back to regular underwear if he stops having accidents.
Henry is continuing to get bigger and bigger. He is gaining weight better than Wyatt did at this age, probably because Mommy is better educated on breastfeeding this time around. We figured out Henry is tongue-tied, and I think it's made it harder for him to eat. We had a lactation consultant come over on Saturday, and she agreed that he is tongue-tied. So on Monday I went to our doctor to get a referral to get it taken care of - when we were there, they weighed him and he is up to 9 lb. 8 oz. He is in the 40th percentile now! When Wyatt was two months old, he just barely weighed 9 lb. So... big difference! Anyway, long story short - I ended up taking Henry to the pediatric dentist in town, and he did the frenotomy to take care of the tongue-tie. It was very quick, and Henry did great. I think he is doing better eating now, so I'm glad we did it. Hopefully it will help him down the road when it comes to eating and speaking too.
Anyway, I've enjoyed my time at home, but I'm definitely tired! It's frustrating to have a messy house and not have the time or energy to take care of it! Today I did get the kitchen deep-cleaned, and as of right now it is still clean. So that's a small victory. :) I know this is just a season of life, and one day Henry will sleep well at night. And some day Henry and Wyatt will be teenagers and I'll be dragging them out of bed!
Aaron has been back to work for awhile - sometimes he comes home for lunch, or we meet him out for lunch like we did today. He has been painting again, and he took some of his paintings to a gallery in town today. They like them and they are going to sell them! I'm very proud of him - I know he is very talented! :) You can check out his work here: www.ambrummer.com
Hope you all have a good week!
